Membership and Advocacy in the Service of Change

It is not your blindness that prevents you from pursuing your dreams.

The Foundation for the Blind and Visually Impaired understands that being blind is not what makes you who you are or what you will become. We work tirelessly to boost blind people’s expectations since low expectations are a major barrier to blind people achieving their goals.

Our Beliefs

We are the only core group able to make our visions a reality, and we are the only ones who believe in blind people’s full potential. All of us, from our democratically chosen leaders to our racially and ethnically varied membership across the country, are blind people who firmly believe in the value of the blind community.

Our Community

The Foundation for the Blind and Visually Impaired is an advocacy and membership organization. We ensure blind and visually impaired Americans have equal access to life’s possibilities through coordinating activities, services, and resources among our members.
